gumnuts on dewhurst street

$92.00

a hand-calved wood relief that is printed on 100% cotton. this print would be an incredible edition to any space.

this print was instrumental in my learning to shift away from perfectionism and focus on and embrace the messy components that i love and hold dear. the reality is that i stopped myself from creating consistently for many years, because i struggled to be perfect. this stopped me from doing my one job as a storyteller - to use the skills that i have developed over time to capture the world that i live in and to share the intricacies of my heart, soul and mind through the lens of my culture. this print signifies the day that i said “f*ck it” and learned to embrace who i actually am, and what i actually value.

“i was sitting in my home in walgett (north western nsw), and i was admiring the old gum tree out in the front yard. during the stormy season the wind would blow like crazy and lightning would flash in the distance - electricity all through the air. that afternoon, when the storms were over, i walked up to it, and i saw its true complexion, as golden hour hit. a beautiful combination. an unforgettable combination.”
