my name is yaraai and i am a proud gamilaroi storyteller from northwestern nsw, specifically moree (madness 2400 if you know, you know) - i also have deep ties to brewarrina and walgett. i have been making art professionally for over sixteen years, with a focus on family, community, nature and my lived experience. i have learnt that i am the type of artist who likes to live my life in cycles, what this means is that i wont do the same thing forever, but i will continue to create what feels true to me or what i am passionate about. i would love for you to be a part of my journey.

the aunty girl art club is a physical subscription full of stories, behind the scenes thoughts, art and special offerings. when you join a club, you support my art making career, which helps me to survive, thrive and take care of those closest to me and my community. aunty girl is someone with the energy of an aunty. its purely matriarchal, staunch, caring, knowledgeable, teachable. simply put, someone who plans to make this world a better place in the most nurturing way possible. someone who has the tough and real yarns that cut through the mess, someone who sits down and helps you through that too - with a cuppa in hand. these clubs are dedicated to all the aunties out there who are the community caretakers, nurturers and staunch advocates. p.s. aunty girls are the movers and shakers, who also know how to move and shake!

my first exhibition:
